The new Data Privacy counsel (m/f) will be the leading expert and centre of competence on data privacy matters. As a main responsibility the position will maintain and further develop the global data privacy framework of Red Bull and provide appropriate and relevant legal support to business and legal stakeholders.

AREAS THAT PLAY TO YOUR STRENGTHS:

All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:

MAINTAIN GLOBAL RED BULL DATA PRIVACY FRAMEWORK

  • Maintain and further develop data privacy compliance strategy;
  • Liaise with other departments, especially IT, in order to achieve high standards of technical and organisational data protection;
  • Maintain overview of data landscape within Red Bull (data mapping exercise);
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments for existing and new applications/tools;
  • Further develop Red Bull Data Retention Framework;
  • Ensure global alignment and file registrations with data protection authorities Keep Global Data Transfer Agreement updated;
  • Build up and maintain knowledge and expertise on data protection issues, technical developments and changes of the legal setting globally.

ENSURE BUSINESS DATA PRIVACY COMPLIANCE

  • Establish, develop and communicate templates, policies, checklists, guidelines, toolkits and workflows for business and legal stakeholders;
  • Support negotiations of data specific transactions: strategic partnerships, data sharing agreements, software licensing and joint marketing agreements;
  • Devise trainings for business and legal stakeholders; raise awareness regarding data protection and the duty to maintain secrecy.

OPTIONAL: DATA PROTECTION OFFICER

  • Regular and ad-hoc reporting on data protection compliance to the management (through annual Data Privacy Compliance Report);
  • Documentation and handling of all relevant data protection incidents (e.g. data breaches) according to Global Breach Response Master Plan;
  • Point of contact for data subjects and the supervisory authorities; ensure that such requests are dealt with appropriately and in due time;
  • Conducting of regular data protection audits (as needed).

YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:

Proven performance in:

  • Law Degree, internationally obtained postgraduate degrees (LL.M., MBA);
  • Excellent knowledge of English and German;
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in an international law firm or as in-house counsel of an international company;
  • Relevant experience in a similar role and/or experience of working in or with technology and/or media businesses with significant consumer facing social media activity and content is a prerequisite;
  • Extensive knowledge of data privacy laws (esp. GDPR and the respective national im-plementation laws), consumer protection laws and basic IT knowledge (data processing and storage, databases and computer systems);
  • Professional communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, proactive working style;
  • Excellent organizational skills and process-oriented, well-structured working style;
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and towards tight deadlines;
  • Loyal and reliable team player.
