About the job:

As an Associate Commercial Counsel at Google, you will work on the most exciting legal issues as disruptive technological innovations require creative and proactive legal guidance. You will be part of a whip-smart group of in-house lawyers and the projects and cases you take on will challenge you to think big and differently. You are collaborative and ready to partner in initiatives that influence all aspects of the business, working with Googlers from all over the company. As an integrated part of the team, you will proactively assess legal risks and advise on products that will not only move information into the 21st century, but move information law forward as well.

In this role, you’ll consult and draft a variety of commercial agreements relating to Google Cloud Platform, Apps, and other Google solutions. You’ll work closely with business clients and Legal colleagues in Google offices. An understanding of Google's business, and the ability to think quickly and practically, are essential attributes for this job.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult on a range of commercial agreements with customers and partners throughout EMEA and maintain templates that comply with company policies and local law;
  • Advise on legal matters, complex agreement structures, and company policies;
  • Develop experience in Google Cloud Platform, Apps, and other Google solutions;
  • Advise management, business clients on various aspects of French law, in particular data protection.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Private Law/Contractual Law or equivalent practical experience;
  • Qualified lawyer or otherwise authorized to practice law;
  • Experience as an in-house lawyer or as a lawyer in a law firm.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Intellectual Property (IP), IT, or Law;
  • Experience in consulting, drafting and advising clients on technology-related commercial agreements, including multi-jurisdictional transactions;
  • Experience advising on data protection matters and upcoming legislative changes;
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently and idiomatically;
  • Effective communication skills.
