Description

Mandate:

Support AXA GO/COO regarding legal matters, prevention and remediation, acting as a strategic Business Partner.

Activities:

He/she covers all AXA GO COO procurement and legal operations and:

Legal:

  • Defines and provides legal procurement guidelines, processes and strategies, with key performance indicators to measure its effectiveness;
  • Organizes legal support for the organization with day-to-day management of internal and external staff; and set processes with all BU (such as GENEX and Outsourcing projects) to prevent and break silos;
  • Ensures legal monitoring of all proposed or new laws, regulations and practices which impact the organization, its customers or the relevant markets and updates internal processes to take them into account;
  • Designs, negotiates and monitors the conclusion of a wide range of agreements with internal customers, vendors/suppliers and other third parties regarding IT and non-IT agreements, General Expenses, Real Estate, trademarks in French Law;
  • Animates and supports Group initiatives where dedicated Legal expertise is requested on procurement related projects (large contracts negotiation, intellectual property, etc.);
  • Trains and raises awareness about Legal/Regulatory items to non-expert people or external families (Knowledge Management);
  • Maintains technical expertise in field and promotes it internally.

These activities cover management of a wide range of commercial and financial transactions and issues on a recurring basis as well as frequent one-off projects, in particular GENEX and Outsourcing projects.

These responsibilities aim at ensuring that AXA GO/COO is always compliant with international/local legislations and best practices within the concerned markets and would not be exposed to sanctions, fines or lawsuits.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Degree holder in law;
  • Corporate legal experience in law firm and/or in-house;
  • Minimum 5 years' solid legal experience in new technologies and international environment;
  • Familiar with professional regulations;
  • Self-motivated, creative and independent with good interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Top Executive Management;
  • Good drafting skills;
  • Fluent English and French languages.

PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

Technical expertise:

  • Understanding of customer activities to identify the risks issues in their environment and implement efficient solutions with minimum impacts on the day to day work;
  • Ability to provide advices regarding legal matters in accordance with the Group strategies;
  • Ability to identify legal and reputation risks;
  • Delivering legally compliant documentation with favorable provisions and in line with best available market standards.

Transaction Management/Negotiation & Drafting Skills:

  • Ability to negotiate and draft complex legal documentation in both French and English languages;
  • Ability to draft internal presentations and memos for internal clients including GC, CEO, CPO, CFO, ExCom, Board.

INTER-RELATIONAL SKILLS

  • Explaining concisely complex legal topics and their relevance to non-legal people including Management and operational teams (e.g. through presentations);
  • Giving ad hoc oral advice, in particular to Business, on a daily basis;
  • Translating business decisions into legal documentation;
  • Ensuring maximum legal and reputation protection for the company in negotiation and documentation stages.
