Group is looking for an experienced corporate lawyer to join our team and take over all law-based tasks in our foreign exchange brokerage. We are looking for a candidate who is capable of being proactive with all complex legal matters in the financial and forex industries and be held accountable for the accurate execution of all required tasks, both locally and across new continents to which we plan on expanding, and their respective jurisdiction.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Consulting on any legal matters related to the broker’s activities. This includes the activities of the executive director and senior management;
  • Assisting and advising on legal matters related to the company’s strategies as well as any other tasks, on a daily basis;
  • Overlooking all communication with regulatory bodies and advising any staff members who have to also communicate with the above mentioned regulatory bodies;
  • Ensuring all current and future regulations and laws are implemented in the company in a timely manner - hence deferring the company from running into any legal issues;
  • Assisting in all compliance related matters and providing a legal interpretation of any documents/ tasks that the company receives and/ or creates;
  • Understanding the laws, regulations and jurisdiction in countries across the globe and conducting research to ensure the company is taking the right measures in all countries in which we operate;
  • Drafting agreements when requested and reviewing legal documents, agreements, contracts and any other compliance or law-related documents in the company;
  • Successfully maintaining the company’s database of contracts and legal documents;
  • Preparing updates on respective jurisdiction for the financial industry which will be used both internally and externally.

IF YOU TICK THESE, WE WANT YOU:

  • Proven experience in law and compliance as either a team member or a team leader;
  • While we are open to candidates with no or little forex experience, it will be an advantage if the candidate has worked in the legal sector of a forex broker or in a high-risk financial industry;
  • A degree in UK/ US Law is preferable and an LL.M. degree is considered a big advantage;
  • Proven experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating business contracts and a variety of legal documents;
  • Proficiency in the English language on a native or near-native level with the Anglo-Saxon legal terminology and legal institutes;
  • Experience in handling legal issues with regulatory/ supervisory bodies in the financial industry is an advantage.
