Associate - Asset, Trade and Energy Finance

Dentons Europe

London, United Kingdom

The Department

Our Asset, Trade, and Energy Finance (ATEF) group covers a range of areas of specialized finance, including asset finance (particularly with respect to aviation finance), trade and commodity finance, asset-based lending, project finance, and export finance.

The Trade and Commodity Finance team within ATEF enjoys demand from clients looking for expertise in complex commodity, trade, receivables, export, and structured financings, and is highly ranked in both the Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 directories. Our portfolio of clients includes major UK and international banks, trading houses, specialist funds, and high-profile borrowers.

Our market-leading Asset-Based Lending practice complements the Trade and Commodity Finance practice and the firm's wider Banking & Finance practice. We are one of only a few firms in the City to have a credible specialist ABL team. Our ABL client base spans the full spectrum of the market, ranging from UK clearing banks and major overseas financial institutions to independent asset-based lenders and funds. As a result, the team is regularly engaged in advising on a wide variety of transactions, including syndicated ABL facilities, sponsor-backed deals, non-recourse receivables purchase facilities, supply chain finance, and borrowing base facilities. The team also regularly advises on hybrid deals that combine ABL facilities with other types of finance (such as unitranche facilities or high-yield bonds) in the capital structure and involve complex inter-creditor arrangements.

Maximising our global presence and local expertise, you will connect with colleagues throughout the firm globally and manage international transactions to meet our clients' needs.
