Senior Counsel with Expertise in Technical Operations

Job Description
The right candidate will cover these tasks:
- Proactively managing and driving the legal support to Sobi’s Technical Operations Department which covers i.a. Global Strategic Sourcing; Global Manufacturing & Supply; Global CMS; Science and Technology and Global Quality, including:
- Operating as a trusted advisor the Technical Operations management team and working closely with internal clients to manage legal risks and provide proactive and pragmatic legal advice in ongoing Technical Operations projects;
- Drafting, negotiating and approving a wide range of commercial contracts in collaboration with different departments in Technical Operations, including complex high value supply and manufacturing agreements;
- Advising on alliance management related matters and potential disputes;
- Potentially supporting business development matters and due diligence processes on supply and manufacturing related aspects as needed;
- Providing legal advice on trade compliance related matters including export controls and sanctions;
- Maintaining legal templates and driving legal operations projects and training to continuously bring efficiencies and improve Sobi legal department’s service offering;
- Securing cost-efficient external support where needed and supervising and coordinating the work of external legal counsel;
- Acting as an internal legal expert on Technical Operations legal matters, including advising, coordinating and collaborating with other members of Sobi’s Global Legal & Compliance department and other functions as needed (e.g. IP and insurance).
- Providing ad hoc legal support on various legal matters for the Global R&D; Medical Affairs and Commercial departments, including:
- Legal advice to the business on a wide range of matters, such as general commercial matters, collaborations, and healthcare compliance matters;
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various commercial agreements, including R&D, master services agreements and other general purchasing agreements, healthcare interaction agreements, sales and distribution;
- Providing brand related support, including reviewing and advising on product related materials and promotional matters;
- Advising on data privacy matters.
Qualifications
Education/Learning Experience/Work Experience:
Required:
- University Degree in law from a reputable university;
- 5-10 years of experience as a practicing lawyer (in-house and/or reputable international law firm);
- Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry;
- Experience in advising on Technical Operations matters, including manufacturing, supply and quality;
- Strong experience with successfully negotiating and drafting international commercial contracts with a particular emphasis on manufacturing and supply agreements;
- Experience from multinational environments;
- Knowledge of and experience from advising on export control and sanction related matters;
- Basic knowledge and experience in managing data privacy related matters relevant to the life science industry;
- Basic knowledge in antitrust and competition law.
Skills/Knowledge/Languages:
- Required: English;
- Desired: French, German, Swedish can be a plus.
