As VP Compliance, you will be responsible for the ethics and compliance program in all operating units of Northvolt as well as supporting the executive management team and different teams and functions with an extensive range of compliance matters. Your extensive expertise in compliance will be instrumental in building a competent and dependable Legal and Compliance team, capable of scaling Northvolt’s operations in Sweden and beyond.

About the team:

You will be responsible for the Group Compliance function and as such part of the Northvolt legal team in Stockholm and report directly to the General Counsel. In our team, providing guidance and direction amidst dynamic changes and agility, is part of our DNA. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement and oversee Northvolt’s compliance program within the areas of, amongst others, anti-corruption, trade sanctions, data privacy, and anti-trust;
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Compliance strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives and supports our expansion efforts, both domestically and internationally;
  • Provide guidance in developing a culture of compliance, setting an example for transparency, and promoting an environment where speaking up is encouraged;
  • Manage investor and stakeholder relations related to compliance;
  • Provide regular updates and advice to the executive management team and the board of directors;
  • Support the risk management team with the risk assessment within the compliance area;
  • Draft and implement policies and procedures for reviews and monitoring for internal control;
  • Develop and conduct compliance training and awareness programs;
  • Review commercial projects to mitigate compliance risks presented and assist with the assessment and mitigation of actual or potential conflicts of interest.

Skills & Requirements:

We believe that you have:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as a Master of Laws or Business etc.;
  • Proven and extensive experience with compliance programs within the areas of, amongst others, anti-corruption, trade sanctions, data privacy, and anti-trust. Experience and interest in the manufacturing industry is a plus;
  • A proven track record working with compliance in an international company;
  • Collaborative Nature is the cornerstone of our team's success. Working with various stakeholders will require a collaborative approach;
  • Excellent and effective communication is paramount. You will interact with stakeholders at all levels in a multicultural environment. Your ability to convey complex information in a clear and approachable manner will be highly valued.
