We are looking for an experienced lawyer and manager to join the Global Contracts Legal team in Gdansk, Poland. In this role you will lead a team that provides legal support to various State Street’s businesses and corporate functions globally in negotiating a variety of agreements and providing other types of legal support.

What you will be responsible for

As Senior Legal Manager, Team Leader you will be:

  • managing and developing a team of lawyers, projects and legal processes and agreements supported by the team;
  • responsible for governance of key internal documents and templates;
  • supporting your team in negotiations of complex agreements (NDAs, product agreements, etc.) and other in scope legal support provided by your team;
  • leading and co-ordinating the internal Custody Agreements Training Program and providing subsequent legal support;
  • supporting your team as a first point for escalations (for legal and operational issues);
  • working closely with the Head of Global Contracts Legal, internal legal and business colleagues to deliver best quality of legal services and address corporate-wide initiatives;
  • handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with careful legal analysis and attention to detail;
  • exercising sound legal and business judgment in dealing with clients and colleagues.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Law school graduate (attorney-at-law license in any jurisdiction is a plus);
  • Eight (8) years or more of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, preferably within financial services sector and/or international law firm or international company.
