Legal Counsel

Our legal department is looking for a Legal Counsel to provide legal services to our Operations & Services Department, covering the Construction, Maintenance and the Distribution activities across the Voltalia group.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced commercial/contracts lawyer to join a successful and growing renewable energy business, supporting our green energy international vision and mission.
Responsibilities include
- Responding on behalf of the company to requirements for third party client tenders;
- Providing legal analysis, drafting and negotiation of national and international contracts for the construction and operation of renewable power plants (EPC, O&M);
- Acting on behalf of the company to analyse and mitigate risk, to draft and negotiate contracts related to distribution activities such as agency, distribution, partnership agreements, etc.;
- Act on behalf of the company in disputes; providing advice on legal issues such as customer and suppliers claims, pre-litigation and litigation;
- Provide generalist support for the company's legal requirements; drafting letters, policies, contract templates and legal documents; ensuring accurate legal advice is given and that procedures are followed as per current local legislative and statutory compliance;
- Keep up to date with changes and developments in case law, contract law, liability, public procurement, local legislation, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years of proven experience minimum;
- Experience in Projects (Construction & Maintenance);
- Strong knowledge of contract law and construction law;
- Good knowledge and experience of common law;
- Command of French or Portuguese appreciated;
- Proficiency in English.
