Activities

We are looking for an Electricity Projects Lawyer F/M to join the Integrated Power Business Unit's Legal Department and ensure the legal and regulatory security of the IP division's Flexible Power Generation (FPG) activities.

FPG develops and operates a portfolio of 'flexible' assets (combined-cycle gas power plants, hydroelectric power plants, battery storage) mainly in Europe and the United States. These assets are at the heart of TotalEnergies' electricity strategy in that they compensate for the intermittent nature of renewable generation and secure the needs of national electricity grids.

As an electricity projects lawyer, and part of a team of 6 lawyers, you will have the following tasks:

  • Providing high-quality legal support in responding to calls for tenders to develop new projects;
  • Ensuring that the regulatory framework (authorisations, permits, concessions, etc.) for projects is secure and that the management of these assets complies with market regulations (EMIR, REMIT, MIFID);
  • Ensuring that the land required for new projects or for the continued operation of existing assets is secured (sale and purchase agreements);
  • Ensuring contractual security over the life of projects and assets (negotiating and drafting invitations to tender, construction contracts, operating contracts, contracts with network operators, purchase contracts, energy sales contracts, partnership contracts, etc.);
  • Managing the pre-litigation and litigation inherent in this activity.
