Legal Counsel Lead

As a Legal Counsel Lead, you will support Hospitality's Partnerships team by providing first-level legal support, including drafting and negotiating various commercial agreements. You will offer general legal advice, assist with compliance and data privacy matters, and deliver practical, business-oriented solutions to complex legal issues. This role requires managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while liaising with product teams, finance, R&D, CISO, and the Privacy Unit.
In this role you will:
- Draft and Negotiate Agreements: Handle a variety of commercial agreements, including connectivity agreements, SaaS, data acquisitions, advertising services, technology agreements, and distribution agreements;
- Provide Legal Support: Offer strategic legal counsel to the CMD & PCG projects, ensuring legal risks are minimized and approvals are obtained;
- Liaise with Teams: Work closely with internal teams (e.g., product, sales, finance, R&D) and external lawyers to ensure compliance and effective negotiation;
- Ensure Compliance: Support compliance and risk management initiatives, maintaining and enforcing Amadeus policies and standards;
- Advise Business Areas: Serve as a trusted legal advisor, providing quick, reliable legal advice on various issues;
- Manage Templates and Policies: Maintain and update Partnership, Distribution, Media, and Data Provision templates and policies, ensuring they evolve with products and customer feedback;
- Conduct Research and Training: Perform legal research, prepare negotiation guidelines, deliver legal training, and assist in developing processes to streamline legal services;
- Handle Ad Hoc Projects: Provide legal support for various matters as they arise, ensuring efficient and effective legal service delivery.
About the ideal candidate:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree;
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience, ideally with experience in commercial law, technology agreements, and data privacy;
- Strong negotiation and drafting skills;
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external counsel;
- Familiarity with the hospitality industry is a plus.
